Sps dying

No. It is a surplus to their need but not an issue. I run 550 Ca no issues and have run very high Mg too in the past (when my RS test kit for Mg expired without me noticing).

No chance of any copper, right?

Clear, thank you.
Haven’t tested for copper, IPC results Will show me.

I remember I had 2 kessils over biocube. i was scared I was going to burn teh acros. They died and later it was a whopping 74 par on some areas. That's what makes LEDs tricky, you can have too much par and kill, but not enough and kill. Just find a way to get your hands on a par meter. Just a one time rental will save you a lot of head ache... do not guess

Could be not enough fish poop but I think it’s your lighting. How how is your 26 mounted above your water. I’m an AI guy btw. I have 2-26 HD’s over a 29g bio cube and 2-52 HD’s over my 50g sps display

My AL is About 14 inch above the water. Will send Some pictures Tomorrow.

Perfect
That’s how high my 26’s are over my biocube. I’ll plug your settings into mine, reduce the wattage by half bc I have 2 and take some par measurements for you.

Your issues are not from high no3/po4 though. These are all from today bc I’m about to do a WC

Your tank is beautiful, what a colors! Hope one day mine wil be the same.

So I plugged in your settings and just turned off one of my 26’s. 2-3” Below the fixture par was around 200-250 par and 120-175 in the middle of the biocube

thanks, that's not that much ... do I have to change my settings?

I would. My acros have never responded well to whites above 30. These settings will give you 400 par 2” below the water and 225-350 in the middle of the tank.

would any of this closely translate over to a 16HD? lately i realized the hard way im underlighting, tryin gto bump things up a bit until i can get a par meter in hand.

Yes and no. I have a prime 16 on a little 6g tank and it seems like I need a lot more white than my older models. I’m assuming they made the whites less powerful in the newer versions.

Here’s my prime 16 schedule

im running a 16hd over a nuvo 40 AIO since i swore to myself i wasnt gonna do SPS....but then livesales happened.

the spread is not great, but id like to get the PAR up as my yellow birdsnest frag just rtn'd this week and my green slimer fraglost 90% color after being in the tank for only a week, found last night that i got acclimation turned back on somehow.

so now with that off at least im gonna start pushing towards your blue numbers since i finally know im WAY low on par. My schedule is modeled off the BRS AB+ but is pretty turned down, think my peak white is like 15% at mid day.

so I changed my hydra settings and first thing I notice is that my windows Turning green. Never had this before they where always a little white.. is this because of my lighting?

While I cannot confirm the cause, I will say that this is a distinctly positive behavior change for your biome. Green film algae on the glass is healthy behavior.

that is good to hear I am curious how it will continue
