They are most definitely eating my sps corals. They are little nudibranchs or something similar. Looked at them under the microscope and I'm notbhappy

Looks like the same thing that was discussed here:

I would treat them like any other possible pest: dip and qt

Crap I got montipora eating nudibranchs.... and my tank is infected big time. These corals are all well grown into the rocks so I'm not sure what to do

I guess you could painstakingly remove each one individually, checking every day? It's extremely unlikely you'd get all of them though, and if you miss even one or two they'll just reproduce. Not to mention eggs.

This is over my head tbh. Good luck! I hope someone more experienced has some answers.

a couple of options, start knocking them down w a short 5-7" rigid airline connected to airline siphon into fine net clipped in sump,at night w flashlight, suck them out,2nd predator to eat them, last resort, dog medicine, interceptor, have never gone that route, have dealt with both, monti nudi's,and acro eating spiders, best wishes, keep us posted ;)

I just sucked all the nudis I could find up and broke a bunch of montipora in the process... I'll figure it out. Might have to frag all my corals and dip them.......

Would you know of any predator that eats these guys??? I'm definitely going to siphon them out. Also does anyone know the procedure with interceptor?????

I have like 8 different montipora colonies! Didn't even realize untill they were in jeopardy. I'm like wow I got alot of montipora

Most wrasses, such as Yellow coris, Melanurus, etc will probably consider them a delicacy.

Ok it seems like I have come to a logical conclusion...... I need to buy a coris wrasse. On top of that I might as well buy other fish to get the free shipping. My fiance agreed that can buy it so maybe this pest does have an upside! I mean it's the only logical thing to do, and it's only smart to buy more fish to get free shipping. Just saying. I'm going to just clean the eggs off and suck the pests off for now. I'll just keep them managed I guess and hopefully they will eventually fade out and not return

There's only so much you can do my friend, so you're on the right path.

Beware, it may take up to 3-6 months of continual treatment to fully handle :D Good luck!

hi,yep you got it figured out,red coris like to move large things ,i'd stick w yellow, what size tank? meleanarus is a good choice as pest eater ,6line too :) keep us posted

Ok an update. These guys are monti killers! They have chosen one or two of my corals and have really done some damage. I fragged this guy(mostly on accident) and I haven't given up yet.

I bought a yellow coris but have yet to add him due to quarantine! Meanwhile I have been blowing these guys off my corals trying to suck them up. I did come up with a realistic way to kill the eggs. You cant blow them off and most of the time you cant get a brush into where they are so I can up with a solution. I got myself a syringe with a needle, something used to administer medication for a dog and 15%peroxide. I then fill the 10ml syringe with the peroxide. I turn off all my pumps and carefully spot treat the areas around the corals. If I see eggs I will shoot it into that area killing the eggs and effectively not harming the coral. Theres are tons of little holes In the live rocks around the coral where the nudibranchs hide and lay eggs, this Is my main target as I fill these holes with peroxide. To my pleasure when I do this I have found tons of nudibranchs coming out to escape and I suck them up and dump them or they just die due to the peroxide.
