SPS - Eye Candy

can you tell us what lights you have above those nice sticks... and what is the avg par on them.. thanks
Is that question for me?
Main Lighting: 5' Aquatic life X18 T5 with (3) AI Hydra 32HD's
T5 Bulbs: (2)ATI Actinic and (2)ATI Blue Plus
Extra Pop: ReefBreeders UV Lumen Bar, Reefbrite XHO Blue Bar

The majority of PAR comes from the T5's, the rest is more to tune how it looks during the day(white) and evening(blue). I like to have it more natural looking during the day and then the evening for a couple hours is heavy blue so I can enjoy the glow. The Pink Floyd and Orange Passion are getting about 450, the other corals probably 350-400, bottom of my tank is probably 200ish. Haven't used a PAR meter in a while but that's where they were last I checked.

That 1st one, speciosa I presume, it's insane! Looking great Charlie!
Yes sir. Bkchem flaming sunrise. It’s even better in person…believe it or not. My camera phone clip filters out the pink tips it has. You can see them on this other small frag of it in the top left.

I read a few of you other threads. What do you feel is more important PO4 or NO3?
Thanks
If I had to pick a test result, I would say Po4. Especially for Tenuis and speciosa frags. Anything less than 0.10 Po4 and they struggle to settle in.
But I believe it’s the chasing with over stripping that gets ppl in trouble. Even if you’re at 0.10 but using gfo and/or carbon dosing etc. Something about the artificial export irritates my corals. So I just don’t worry about it. This was the first time I’ve checked in weeks, and I only checked bc someone usually will ask me when I post a pic.

I shake my head/chuckle every time i see an sps help thread and I someone asks “how stable is your alk” or “are you keeping everything stable”. They’re destabilizing the system with a bunch of different products to keep a hobby grade test kit result stable. Lighting and flow should be rock solid, alk 7-9, cal 350-500, mag +1250 and I don’t worry about anything else. Feed my fish, run my skimmer and grow some chaeto. That’s it for me.

I don't know if Pocillopora with a touch of dinos is eye candy, but IDK where else to post! Pocillopora growth over the last 2 weeks, I brought this piece home 2 weeks ago to the day and its made some serious improvements. Makes me feel like I'm doing at least something right lol
