Looks like an abrotanoides. Most I see just has pink on the growing tips but yours has it on the whole body. Nice piece.

That's a tough acro for sure. Worth it if it makes it, sadly many don't. I haven't noticed much difference between the wild and the maricultures.

Thanks everyone-I am pretty anal about husbandry and have about 60-90x turn over within the tank depending on where the Vortechs and Tunzes are in their cycle. I'll do my best and treat it well:bigsmile:

We will have to see how it likes LEDs too since that is what lights my tank.

I was blown away when the shop owner said someone else was considering it, I had to make it easy for them

I call this my pink dahlia. I have had it for a little over a year now and still don't know what type of acro it is. Any ideas?

Thank you. I have had it for about a year and a half now. A local reefing friend of mine had it before that. When he broke down his 360 gallon tank due to a divorce he gave it to me. He gave me the colony and I promised to give him back a nice piece of it if he ever got back in the hobby. I didn't ask him where he got it from and we have lost touch since I really only knew him from the local club. When he gave it to me it was stressed and faded since he had let the tank go and I wasn't that impressed. A couple of months later it kept getting nicer and nicer, and now its a favorite of mine. I wish I had asked him more details about the piece when I got it.

Tyree/Joe's Rainbow Acro. I tried to get as much T5 blue out as I could because it's hard to see the yellow in the photo. The mostly retracted polyps are two-toned (red/yellow) or fluorescent green. I bet it would look really nice grown out in Dan's tank
