30% H2o change daily using water from an established SPS system.
Air driven Kriesel-like flow with a 21W PAR 38, (12.000K) LED.

bowl has only been set up for just over a month, changed out the light from a 6,5000K compact fluorescent desk lamp to the LED earlier this week.

PAR reading in center of bowl is over 350 with a new Apogee Quantum meter.

Very cool! Is this going to be a permanent thing or just an experiment?

I am going to keep it going unless I can't keep up with the daily H2o changes.
Temp is a perfect 78 degrees?,..who knows,..I would like to be able to keep it going,..but again,..I don't think you can do something like this unless you have a large established system already running to use water/do waterchanges from.

I feed a small amount of a blended "coral smoothie" (of varying particulate size) about two hours before I do the daily change.(very very small amount of food)

That is really cool. I picture no fish, but maybe 2 or 3 Pom Pom crabs, a small blue or red starfish and maybe one or two more sticks in there. I really like the bottle too! Good luck!

I agree with you,..I think Just a Single pom-pom, or porcelin crab or possibly anemone shrimp.

I think "respecting the bio-load " is the key here.

keep us updated. I've always wanted to try something like that. Good luck

Ricky,

this is awesome. I love stuff like this.

I had a 1 Gallon pickle Jar set by a window with Zoas and some macro a few years ago.

That's crazy....I thought about something like this with a small tank I saw just the other day.

That is cool, especially the SPS grows on glass bottle.

Just over a month,..starting to see some cyano build up as of today, but siphoned it off doing two 30% water changes, and turned up the flow just a bit.
I'm going to whatever it takes to make this thing succeed :)
