SPS frag placement

Depends on the type of coral. I know a birds nest will spread out pretty crazy.
Some other sps will base all over before it thinks about growing upward....

Even if u do glue them to close together it's pretty easy to pot them off for the most part

Yes, give them lots of room or put them on the ends of branch rock. +1 to six inches. I made the innitial mistake of mounting mine too close together and suffered some warfare.

Thanks. I thought so, but then it looks like there is sooooooo much space in between lol. I was thinking about reducing it to 3 inches to add more corals.

Nope. Give them space. Trust me. If you've got an encruster it doesn't take long for it to spread out an inch or two. Now imagine two that encrust a lot three inches away from each other. Space gets tight fast and when you have to move one, it dramatically slows down its growth rate until it settles back in to its new spot. I feel like I could have gotten a lot more growth out of my acros had I started out by giving them more room to spread out rather than having to move them. Also, SPS can, "smell" each other from short distances. If they sense that there is something getting close it also slows down their growth.
