so i brought this up because my tank has done things that has made sps all but die, only to rebound again.

so share with us causes for this brief "pause" and then the bounce back.

ill start...

when i had a dino outbreak a couple corals kicked the bucket off the bat. im talking rtn from being covered in 12 hours.

others didnt care or just bleached.

about 2-3 weeks after pulling peroxide. bacterial bloom.

what few corals that were weakened died. others cursed at me under their breath and paled. and stayed that way for a good month.

now i am gettig coloration again and they are coming around. but it was interesting to witness the paling and bounce back during these events.

so please share yours and methods you enployed to help hasten the process (of recovery)

Rainbow pocci cannot be killed. Spores will release and go into your rocks and as soon as your parameters come back around they will all grow and overtake your entire tank. See my old tank thread for ref.

Stability of all parameters is the key to hasten recovery. Maybe the hardest lesson to learn when your corals are dying is not to react to quickly as typically depending on the cause the damage has been done and changing parameters more only causes more damage. Wonder what the cause was--any ideas? sudden ALK changes was the most frequent cause for me....
