I have a couple sps in my tank that are growing straight up without branching.

oregon tort and a forest fire digi to be exact. Both are over 6 inchs in length and I have them both in high flow areas of my tank. Any suggestions in getting them to start branching?
I considered maybe fragging them a little hoping that would help.

What kind of flow are we talking about? What are you using for flow and how big is the tank? I ask because I have a friend that has this same problem. His tank is a peninsula and his flow is basically around the rocks & corals with koralias. I get frags from him and mine branch but I'm running MP40's.

take your frag cutters and scrape them a couple of little spots, that should cause branching. that or frag them down some and they should branch where you cut them.

Are they in medium or lower light? I experience that SPS seeking higher light will grow more vertically, SPS in high light will try to branch out to cover more area.
