I'm not in an apartment but I am space limited so I don't have a water making station either. I make and store my bottles of rodi and then when I run out I make more but I understand your situation and although your lfs says you're getting the same water doesn't make it true.

I don't know your lfs and I'm not insinuating all lfs do this because I do know stores that are honest and have clean water. But I've also heard of the stores that say how clean their water is and it's dirty when tested, maybe not even intentionally. Membranes wear out, DI gets exhausted, meters are out of calibration and employees get busy and/or lazy and forget to test themselves. But you mentioned high po4 and algae outbreaks and buying your water third party coupled with sps health issues so it shouldn't be overlooked.

How and where you do have your RODI unit set up? Is yours under the sink or remote? I’m thinking I’m going to get a Rodi unit soon

I keep mine in the garage and use the garden hose attachment on outside spigot when I need to make water and 7-8 5 gallon water bottles I keep in my garage

I didn’t read all the posts but did deal with Dino’s myself and I would say although they are not seen except in certain areas they are still there and toxic to the corals. I would say a total restart would be the fastest way to an SPS sustainable environment.

I’ve thought about it, going to see what the triton test says first. So far I’ve found my ro water from lfs has 14-15tds so that means so does my salt water. I dunno was the allowable tds threshold. I want rule out something rusting in my system that I can’t see. Checking everything before have to tear it all down for a restart. I really don’t want to do that with 20 something fish

Triton test going out today, hopefully it will point me in the right direction to get my tank back in order.

I would be cautious on adding any new corals since it looks like dinos are still present and the system may not be ready yet.

I don’t plan on adding anymore till I get my results and I get everything back in order. But how long would one have to wait for dinos? Till they’re 100% gone? I’d say they’re about 95% gone.

Let the water stabilize for a bit. Dino not only killed some of your corals but also severely damaged the ecosystem in the tank, which can be stressful/undesirable for corals. If you notice that things are changing for example glass inside turning green, coralline algae spreading, SPS coloring up... then it would be the time to slowly introduce more corals. Right now you can dose some live phytoplankton to help the system and keep bad things like dino in check.

So I got my Triton results back. I thought I might have a rusting metals somewhere but nope. I see high aluminum probably from my marine pure blocks and I’m thinking the high lithium is from the Red Sea pro salt. Recently there was update on Mike Palettas’ elos tank and he had the same problems as me except I did have stuff take off an grow in the beginning but nothing after Dino’s showed up. If anyone could chime in with some ideas it bed much appreciated [emoji16]

how’s the tank and what was the problem if you ever figured it out . Any updates
