Just wanted to ask a very knowledgable set of people for abit if help to point me in the right directions with my sps.
I noticed today that my orange digi that has been doing very well had what looked like blisters on two of its tips ? The other tips were fine, after coming home from work one looks like it’s crumbling abit. Also my jingle bells Frag is loosing its Greeny turquoise base colour.
Any advice guys

What are your current water parameters?

Photos will help. Water parameter are critical. Lighting is also important.

What you are describing could be from too high of nutrients, LED light burn or even low alk (or alk swings).

As others mentioned, please provide some basic information about water chemistry like Alk, Ca, Mg, Nitrates and Phosphates , how often do you test especially alk , lights and general tank information. Pictures of the affected corals will help certainly .

Abhishek

need to do a set of test , cal ,alk ,mag , nitrate, phos and salinity. Post them up and double check your temp make sure that accurate, if needed do some water changes to help remove what ever might be causing the issue and think about anything you might have change in the past week or two weeks

Ok checked them today
Alk 10
Ca 450
Mag 1300
No3 0.2
Po4 0.02
The only thing I have changed is I put my uv up by 5% on my light over a week ago as I hear it can help to colour up corals ?
Not sure how to post pics yet sorry
I only have a reef space 900 tank with a hydra 52 running at 60%
Mixed reef but mostly sps

10 is to high. IMO I would keep it 8.5 with your nitrate and phos need to be lower then 10

Lower alk slowly to 7 or so. 10 is too high for such low nutrients in my opinion. Are you running GFO or dosing vodka or nopox, etc?
No I’m not running anything the only thing I run is bio pearls and my skimmer no vodka or nopox gfo nothing. Would I benefit from doing so ?
I will start to lower the alk thanks for your help on this
