One I just picked up last night. Will those polyps get bigger

No the polyps won't get any bigger they may extend a little more. Looks like wrath of grapes but it is missing base color of purple. It will take some good fish poo before the color comes back. Red Sea reef colors will help or phoyls extra will help color. But the easiest is to feed your fish a good food and let them poop. Basically SPS need a little nitrate but not to much. I haven't checked out your tank so I don't now how many fish you have.

So anyways looks like the wrath of grapes SPS I got from your reef.
Just name it what you want.

i have like 7 or 8 fish in a 40gb. i just got it so maybe it will turn around since my other sps blue acro has great extended polyps

Is that an ORA frag plug it's on? If it is that should narrow your search.

It sure does look like an ORA plug, but ORA in a PetCo? I must have missed the cross breeding of pigs and crows.
Or did the pig just drink a Redbull.
Sweet score though

Very cool. How much did it cost?

looks like a good find. I have seen ORA frags at 1 of my local petco's but they all looked like crap as the lighting is just standard fish lighting ... this one looks good and cant wait to see pictures when it color's up

The petco here gets in ORA stuff quite a bit along with other nice aquaculture companies. You just have to get them quick before the petco system kills them.

ORA is one of the largest suppliers to Petco for corals and fish. Petco is shifting towards purchasing aquacultured livestock as much as they are able to.

That'a good on them. Now if only they can figure out how to keep them alive...

All my petco has is upside down floating fish. At least they have a large variety of them.

Pretty typical. There is one by my house that has some pretty decent frags on occasion, and they actually keep them in a separate system under T5's. They still don't last very long though because the staff is clueless.

Does Petco list the stores that carry coral? I don't think I've ever seen one with coral in the Houston area.

I think that the base of the coral is alittle pale but in about 2 weeks i should see something. Also what do you all think about fragging a frag?
