Not sure what this guy is. A friend took his tank down, and gave me the live rock, and this coral was on there, its doing great and growing, just cant seem to find out what it is.

Possibly the encrusted portion of a Cali Tort. That's what mine would look like if I popped the colony off the rock and left a bit behind.

Look up tortuosa, that’s what I think however I don’t think it’s a cali personally.

I went to golden state coral today, which is a coral farm not far from my place, and saw the same colony there, and one of the guys said that it is a miyagi for sure.

Kind of looks like Aussie Gold acro, but just the base trying to regow. Mine's similar in coloration. Can you get a white light pic?
