Hi everyone - I've been growing this SPS out since it was a baby, I don't know what it's called, any ideas? Also, it's getting too big for my tank and I'm thinking of trading it in or selling it. It's probably close to 10 inches long if not more. This is considered a colony at this point?

It's an acro to me. Has coralites that are visible on the tips as well as a terminal polyp that I usually see in acros. Just has no color to it and probably grew in an odd growth form due to lack of flow?

Just my 2 cents though.

The power head is blowing right on it. Not sure what would cause it to grow differently. The branches have been getting thicker and thicker. I have a smaller one as well that is growing similarly.

Now that I'm looking at it on a full monitor and not my little phone, I agree that it does not look like a birdsnest but some other acro. Sorry I can't help, but I'm stumped. I'll be following along to see if anybody can ID it.

Looks like a bleached stag horn of some variety. Birds nest would be much more compact and even and standard acro wouldn't grow lengthy branches like this without more stalks.

Pics are under an ai led, I was messing with the spectrum to get different pictures.

Blue stag looks like it could be right. BTW this is by far the best forum. It's unbelievable the participation from a knowledge and timeliness perspective. Thanks everyone! I wish there was something like this for gardening.

I agree on being the best forum!!! Every time I have a question not just one it lots of people help out and some even post links to show more or better information.

I'm going with a Staghorn. I can tell you it's not s birdsnest. How long have you been growing it? Also has it always been under your LEDs?

Funny you should ask, I found this picture of what I think was it when I first got it. Originally I had it under T5s and now under LED. I must have had it for at least two years now.

The one in the middle of that pic is not the same. That one is a birdsnest. The original pic I agree is some form of acro. Would be great if you could post a close-up.
