I'm not sure what this SPS is called. I dropped it when I was cutting the plug stem off and it broke into half a dozen pieces. Since then it has started encrusting and growing pretty quickly. Pinkish skin and light blue polyps. I'm sure it's nothing exotic but I have no idea what to call it.

Why do you think it is an acropora? The coral has no axial polyp, so it's probably not an acropora.

Not a great pic but here's one before it got broken so bad. The wider sections where it branches had me wondering if it was some type of branching montipora?

Wow this is intriguing! To me it looks like a light blue anacropora. If it’s not a bleached green with blue polyp variant then you have a gem. I have not seen a blue or even light blue anacropora yet. Where did you get it? I am curious what others think.

Got it off a local reefer doing a tank breakdown. I can't remember if it was always this pale but it definently has been for the last few months. I was worried it might not make it but then it started entrusting and growing pretty quickly.

I still really doubt it's anything special.

What color are the polyps? Can’t tell from pic. Tubbs stellata is toxic green

Pale blue, could even be white considering how much the blue lights tint things. But I did take the pics during my daylight schedule with a yellow lens.

A better pic would be fun. Kinda does look like it has raised areas where the polyps are and tiny polyps at each branch tip. Still not ruling out a possible smoothie, the more and more I look at it I change my mind. It’s encrusting very well where it’s touching the rock so that and the polyps there say acropora. Can you get a better pic of a that branch end?

I'll try again tomorrow. My daylight phase ended and controlling this Ocean Revive light is kind of a pain.

I am sticking with anacropora now, I don’t see axial coralites on these pics. Beautiful piece whatever it is though.
