I bought a bunch of SPS a month ago and had some strange hitchhiker a on them when I bought them. I did dip everything in CoralRX prior to going in the tank. Since then I have noticed a few corals whose base appears to be experiencing STN (receding). Tonight I noticed these new white marks so I pulled the coral and dipped it in CoralRX again to see if I could see any AEFW to confirm my suspicions. What do you guys think?

The polyp extension on my other SPS is really good.

Tonight after the dip a handful of planaria flatworms and I did notice some slight yellowish dots floating in the water column in the dip container. They weren't moving and I could make out what they were. The dying flatworms had the spots by them too so I think it could have been their toxins?

Doesn't look like it to me, but another picture closer up of the base would help. Ime look for eggs. If aefw are there so will eggs

I'll take another picture tonight. There is more tissue missing from around this area on the acro. I have also noticed little white bugs on some of my other acros. I have read though that planaria babies can be white and can appear on sps. The other ones with little white bugs don't appear to be missing any tissue yet...

If you have aefw you can blow the coral with a turkey baster and they will sometimes fly off the coral. Turn the flow off when you do it and the white flatworm flopping around in the water is unmistakeable. Your fish may try to eat them too.

Eggs are the other dead giveaway. Take the coral out of water to check for eggs. Unmistakable yellow/brown eggs.

Your pic doesn't look like bite marks except maybe that one part on the top but I can't see it well enough to say for sure.

That is both side of the coral. Sorry for the crappy pics. I only have an iPhone camera.

I didn't dip it but when I agitated it no white worms came off.

That is good news. It has been in the same spot for a month (only had it 1.5 months or so). I will continue to just watch it. Thanks for all the help
