I'm curious on what these might be. As I just lost this colony have no idea why. I dip and qt everything. So I'm baffled.

Here is my levels.

Ammonia 0
Well over 50 times turn with powerheads
Using g4 pro radion
My system is roughly 500 gallons
I have many wrasses and mandarins.

Its hard to judge - because we dont know the size of the coral.

I agree, take a pic with a magnifying glass, as big and clear as possible. If you really zoom in on the pic it doesn't look like AEFW, but hard to tell what they are.

They don’t look like aefw. Those look like pods of some sort. I don’t know if they did the deed or are just cleaning up after an rtn event.

My guess goes to something caused rtn and then some isopods or amphipods moved in to clean up the rest.

Curious as to how long you've had that coral? Kinda looks like it was a wild Aussie. If so there's your answer.

Looks like amphipods -- probably chowing down what little dead flesh is left. I've seen similar on dead, and receded areas of damaged coral. They're not the culprit, just the scavengers that show up after the fact.
