Morning Reefers!

I got a large Purple Tip Nasuta Acropora colony.

I have had it in my tank for about 1 1/2 months. It’s been doing great! I was about ready to frag it but I just don’t know the pricing.

Online this sells for $40 for 1” frag. Is that what I can sell it for?

There is a local wholeseller that wants a large chunk for $100 but I feel that’s a low offer as they can turn around and make a nice profit.

I was gonna frag a 1” prob like 4 of them and sell them over time.

What are your thoughts on this peice for $100? Am I getting a good deal to sell that chunk or should I just frag it?

Thanks in advance!

This is the peice that I got:

$130-150 plus shipping give or take

Based on colonies i have ordered from live aquaria for their un named colonies.

Example bought this for $99 from them last week

That’s a nice peice! I figure he needs to make money so maybe that’s why he’s putting it at $100

Some local guy said it's worth $175-200.

That's a awesome colony!! I'd buy it from you for a lot more than 100. Its hard to find colony's that are acclimated to the aquaria and that are thriving

How are they in regard to pests?

I havent found any yet but that might just be my luck Also havent had any issues acclimating them. They do have a nice warranty on corals, 30 days. Still debating when they have a shortcake colony for sale to pull the trigger as they get pricer [emoji23]

I would say $150 for that larger piece to the wholeseller. He will frag it up sell some to make that money back right away and keep a good piece to grow out and continue to frag. I would sell some to him and make some frags to sell at a good deal to friends and local reefers. Spread it around as much as possible. The more coral that is out there the better.

And when you dipped them, did you you dislodge pests?

I have not got stuff from LA but other peoples tanks I found brittle stars dead.

You can certainly frag it - x 4 (1 inch) - and in a year have 4 x the 100 - just keep growing it.

I’d sell it to them for $200. They’re lowballing you. Or at least trade for $200 credit WHOLESALE.
