Well well well. Guess I’m dipping into some easy sps coral now. Is this setting for my primes acceptable for the easier sps I just picked up ?

There are some presets you can download from AI website from people that mainly grow spa or mix reef. You can also check out BRS I believe they have a video on how to set AB+ for your light

You should be fine with those settings for those easier sps. You may or may not have enough light for some of the higher light demand acropora depending on the size of your tank. I recommend getting your hands on a par meter before trying acropora. Primes are pretty low “par”ered unless you max them out or space them close together.

Thanks man. I’ll probably end up going with another light I would rather stay ai cause of all the control I can have with them. Would adding a hydra 32 be my best bet for long term or like a 26

How bigs your system?
I run 2 16HD's on my newly setup 18" nano cube.
UV % V @ 140%
RB &B @125%
G&R @ 5%
W 15%

All sps.

40 gallon breeder but all mine current sps the two shown are above half way up the tank Do your fans constantly run too with those settings ? I have a mix reef so I couldn’t run settings that high

you should be fine as those are both moderate light needing montipora. If you want acros they are going to more likely need to be closer to the water surface, or lower the lights closer to the water level, or add a 3 led fixture either ai prime, orphek or3 or reefbrite lumen v2 uv/blue would work very well to help even out higher par light spread

that foxface looks like he needs a bigger tank soon though, big boi

the petco $1 sales are always a great way to pick up a cheap tank, a 75 gallon would work well for a while

Yeah I definitely thought about it. They also have a new 60 or 65 gallon breeder forget what exact gallon but they haven’t done the gallon a dollar sale here in Texas for awhile it might have been gone away with. I do occur like 5$ coupons so I’ll just save those up or find a nice used tank

Wife named him/her fox super cool fish comes right up to me loves to interact he’s definitely happy but I can’t agree more that he needs more room and I just need a bigger tank in general hahah

Never really noticed the fans. I will check today.

Should I be worried about the shading ?
Fans are on but not at max as far as I can tell.
I went with 2 on my nano cube as 1 had alot of shading but mine is 100% sps.
I have 2 more 16HD's and need 1 more and im going to use 3 on my 36x24x12 frag system replacing a MH.
My 2 16's are close together and their is no shading.
Its the one thing I like about the 16's over the 32's is you can control the spacing of them.

Having a 3rd might just do the trick for me I’ve been running my 16s with out the 3d reef shaders and I just put them back on ramped up my schedule to make up the par I might be missing from the shaders and things look more covered around the SPS

The diffusers are par killers from what I have read. The shades just reduce light spill.
A third 16 will give you all the power you need.

I have Aquanest M 8's They come preset or you can play yourself Pictures of presets. Everything depends on the tank, and the fixture height. As mentioned there are excellent videos at Bulk Reef Supply site. I just watched them yesterday, and as mentioned you cannot accurately set lights without a PAR meter. Mine just arrived, and I am going to see what my lights do in my tank. The meter is expensive about $1000 for meter immersion rod, and com cable to download readings to a computer to an excel sheet , and convert to a graph. Mine is an Apogee MQ 510 specifically made for this hobby
