Been out of the game a while, I’m not 100% sure if this coral is going to make it, all tank parameters are within range. Any opinions welcomed on this guy…He had a touch of baldness when I first got him a few days ago towards the base so I have been keeping an eye on it. Not sure what to do…

Sometimes birdsnest corals can be finicky. The good news is, as long as your parameters are right and they are getting the correct lighting, which judging by the other ones they are, it will recover. It looks like that part at the joint did bleach. Just stay the course and keep an eye on it. If it wasnt happy or was truly dying, birdsnest corals will bleach super quick and you will see evidence of that all over.

I have the PAR set at 150-160 ish for that rack to acclimate them. Alright I will just chill out then, thanks

Mine are sitting in 190 PAR so they will be very happy with 150 par. Just monitor and keep it up!

What is in range to you?
I find these posts all the time that parameters are in range. But when they actually post them, I find high alk or no nutrients, or worse, both.
Please post them so we can further understand your tank and how it's run.

Alright, ALK 9.2 nitrogen 5, phosphate .2, ph 8.2, salinity 34.9 magnesium 1500

If all your parameters are within range what ever that is, then it looks to be lack of bio diversity judging from the background rock, it may just need time for the system to mature, how old is the system? Any full tank shots of today?

Po4 is a little high but not horrible. How old is your system? How stable has the system been?
Birdsnest are a pain as said. I get them and they are great for awhile then go south for no aparent reason.

Birds nest are nice starter sps, but I have better luck with p04 lower than .1 and n03 lower than 10... I've had these for about a year with no real hard swings, alk around 8

To me they look like alk burn, light burn or imbalanced nutrients, maybe pests. But with it already fragged up its hard to tell.

I just decided to dip them just in case, P04 is fluctuating.1-.2 because I installed a algae scrubber and took my other low flow reactor off line to let the algae scrubber get a foothold in the tank. I can make PO4 way lower, I have been dosing nitrogen and phosphate as my fleece roller does to good of a job and I can hit 0 if Im not carful. Anyways as far as the other questions from everyone, yes it’s a new tank, yes I have coralline algae growing on power heads, yes I used dead rock. Yes I need more biodiversity, it’s also a barebottom tank.

That's a good spot to be in my systems are the same way bare bottom and I add n03 and p04 as needed, its much easier to add nutrients rather than removing with gfo or some other phosphate binder, and nitrate removers.

Sounds like you know what's going on, sometimes a swing happens and we don't catch it. It's probably a nutrient swing that got them upset, no big issue once you figure out your scrubber and dial it in.
