SPS / LPS / Softie, what is the difference?

YES! I need this. I think something like this happened to me after I rearranged my tank. Dang. I had no idea you could get chemicals in the water from ticking off your corals. They don't have eyebrows to give me the frowny look so how do I even know. I guess the thing to do is just leave everyone alone in there as much as I can.
If you run activated carbon it helps

Yup they can be feisty and moody with the best of us mortals on this old world of ours. I need to get rid of some fuzzy mushrooms I have on a fake rock I bought a few years ago, just the other week or so ago.

I started with 2 but I have about 22 now and they're muscling in on my radioactive green eyes and rasta's a bit too much.

I know fuzzy's can get a wee tad nasty about being moved but I had no choice I had to break my coral wall so to speak and with a bit of persuasion from yours truly too.

Knowing that they can get moody about it and can make a muckery of the water I first ran the wrong end of the turkey baster on them to shrink em down a bit, I hoped that I could see the rocks I wanted to grab a bit easier.

Well they weren't playing and weren't that particularly bothered by being buffed up by a rubber ball either I was gentle. As they didn't shrink as much as expected, they also taught me another lesson ahem yes again, because they didn't shrink much I had to get my fingers to feel the rocks more than see the rocks while balancing on a ladder and trying at looking at them through the water, well they stung my hand on the base of my fingers on the outside of my hand so lesson learned yes again corals are nasty when they get bullied and defend themselves chemically.

Even though I took care not to come into too much contact with the actual mushrooms themselves as I was more worried of burning and hurting them and I ended up worse off for the encounter.

I guess I can't complain, I have got about 40 odd zoa's on protest in various locations around the tank. That's still a couple of days after the fact too and that's also despite them all living harmoniously for the past 3-4 years together until over population.

My hand stayed irritated for around a couple of days afterwards kind of like a dry skin irritation.

It wasn't until it was painful and I was scratching it not long after the forced relocation of the fuzzy mushrooms that the penny dropped as to who the culprits were who damaged me .

Always treat corals nicely

Polite notice No corals were harmed and all corals survived and are presently still thriving (bar the protesters) in the making of this story the only victim of the story is typing this story .

SPS = the divas/cool kids/entitled and privileged
LPS = moderately conservative/moderately liberal
Softies = the rugged and low-maintenance of the bunch
