You hit on the nose thank you. It was my heater that cracked and it seems that it released some toxic crap. Doing a big water change right now.
Oh man, glad to hear you found out what it was. Hope everything turns out ok

Scary. There is so much to worry about in this hobby
Yes and no but my believe is as I had said on my tank of the month. It pays to look at your tank 10 min per day and see if everything is normal. But with all the help and suggestions on this thread I was able to retract back what I did the past two weeks and catch it hopefully in time. This can affect my fish too but so far so good.

Thx I think it will work out. I actually like the color of corals right now but I know it's not normal
Hows everything looking now? The reason i asked about the heater, when one broke in a family members tank, all the sps looked like they got left out of water for about 10 20 minutes. Looked "lighter" and slimy but wound up being just fine after a few days. It was a ehiem, and cracked at the time of a early morning water change. Usually the black plastic or ceramic (not really sure) contain a black resin thats supposed to be safe in saltwater, but the few people i heard this happen to, had some fish casualtys right away =/ If your fish are fine, im sure everything will be ok

It's weird how the tank reacted cause at first everything seemed fine except the colors looked like a zeovit tank which I kind of like but then when I started seeing slime happening that's when I realized something is wrong. I so far have no casualties but it is the black plastic that is supposedly is toxic. I think it will be ok but now it depends how much damage was done to the corals. I am going to keep the Halides off for few days to let the corals recoup a little

It generally takes two weeks for corals to react to many changes. This is what makes it difficult to trouble shoot issues. Corals can fool you into thinking things are going great the bam they are STNingon you.

I am being hopeful and at same time it's another experience

Merry Christmas brother. It's a little better so far lost nothing but I have a feeling rtn is next. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hopefully, that is not the case. When I've a chance, can u post a fts?

Could be copper. I had a copper incident in my sps tank not too long ago and my corals did the same. As some cuprisorb it will absorb the heavy metals.
Good idea it can only help thank u
