I had this coral in my nano. Never noticed it as it came in on one of my live rocks.
I have fragged it a few times and it is now in my 120 and growing fast.
Lfs said it was a scripps? Cant seem to match it up to any but it may be growing different in my tank.
It is green with very small polyps.
Have 35 plus corals now and trying to get names for the ones I dont know.
Here is a couple pics I just took without the lights on
Thanks

Looks like montipora hirsuta maybe?
Thanks I will look it up. Pic is not the greatest but it does not look like the scripps I have seen online. Here is one I had with lights on. My cell pics dont upload clear.

I think your right. It looks like a hirsuta. Maybe the elkhorn type? It seems to have that growth pattern.

Common name for M. histura is elkhorn montipora.

Someone sold that to you as a scripps? Scripps is Acropora micropathalma.

No it just grew out of the live rock. I never added it. The lfs said it was a scripps.

Oh, nice score! M. histura is a fairly fast growing species. Some may mistake it for M. stellata or maybe Anacropora but I'm suprised they mistook it as an Acropora considering it lacks radial and axial corallites.

As far as Scripps acro/ A. micropathalma goes, it's the fastest growing SPS coral in the hobby, hands down, IMO
kid you not, I'm talking at least +1/2" per branch every week when its happy.
