Unfortunaly that is not bleaching....that is RTN, which means it is pretty much a goner at this point. How long has the tank been set up? How long has the frag been in the tank?

Yeah, doesn’t look too good. How old is your tank?

I’d avoid Acroporas for now and try some some montipora, stylophora and anacropora instead. Then, when you have kept them for 6+ months try a really beginner friendly acrapora. Kermit the Frog acro from tidal gardens is one of the hardiest ones I’ve ever had. It regularly goes for less than $20. I give it away as it grows very fast too.

That is certainly not bleaching.

Bleaching refers to the coral loosing color, but still having flesh. Your coral is actually loosing flesh. We call that RTN(rapid tissue necrosis), or STN(slow tissue necrosis). The moniker leads to how fast the corals is loosing it's flesh.

Live rock as in actual ocean rock, or rock you bought in a vat of water at the LFS?

Either way, unless your super experienced, 4 months in is way to early to start with acro's. I would start with montipora, or burdsnests, or even pavona's to start with. When they are thriving in a few months, then maybe get some hardier acro's that have been in the hobby for a while.

those look like large fresh cut frags, the empty plugs I assume were ones that already perished. Try to get ones in that large size that have already encrusted the base of the plug for better chances of survival.

What lighting do you use? It seems bright, try bringing in new frags to less intense lighting.

Lol the empty plugs were some xenia that I tried fragging. Obviously didn't work so well....
