Sps or lps coral, which one do you prefer?

With so many corals to choose from, we all have our personal favorite corals to keep in our tanks. I am wondering which group of corals do you prefer, sps or lps, and why? Curious to know everyone's input!

Def LPS. Color, variety and movement. SPS have pretty colors but beyond that I find them boring.

Euphyllia, meat corals, caulastreas, cyphastreas kinda give them a run for their money. Chalices do the plating really well too. It's only the classical branching that is truly unique to the sps... except you can also get branching coralline algae and macroalgae (just not as impressive as successful sps colonies)

i can agree to the diversity and flare that LPS have over SPS. i just appreciate SPS significantly more.

LPS for sure! So many different varieties and colors! SPS definitely gives your take a more realistic reef look tho!

I like both, giving my first really serious attempt to keep Acros but in a second smaller tank from my lps heavy mixed reef. If you go more specific Gonis/Alves-Torches/Spawn-Micromussa and then everything else in no particular order afterwards, though I’ll give a slight edge to Montis.

SPS for me.

LPS are my Achilles heel sometimes. Especially frogspawn and hammers.

I do like lps for the feeding response and the crazy colors you can get. At the same time I the growth and polyp extension on sps like acropora as well as some of the color is phenomenal.
One day.

SPS to me. More specifically, acropora. I like seeing the moment my acros finally start growing after my long patient.

Oh man... Tough question. I like SPS a lot as a general category. However, some of my favorite corals are LPS...

So... for me, it's like this... I could do a tank with nothing but SPS corals (acros to be specific) and be very happy with it. However, I am more often mesmerized by specific LPS corals like master scolies, crazy rainbow chalices, or psychedelic acans or blastos...but I wouldn't want a tank made up of ONLY those corals. Does that make sense?

My favorite corals are the merulinid And lobophylliid brain corals, so I would say LPS.
