I'd say always drop off closer to when the carrier pick-up time is. Mine is 6 pm at UPS over here so dropping off around 5 pm works great "it means the least amount of time sitting at the postal office". Also a great video by Chaos Aquaculture here on shipping corals.

That’s the technique I used!

It’s gonna be progressively harder to ship closer to pick up time starting next week. I unfortunately am a doc, and making it to UPS store by 6pm is near impossible after work.

I will probably have to arrange future shipping trials around my vacation times to ensure I can get them to the UPS store in the late afternoon/early evening.

I’m sad cause I now have these frags packs with close to no local interest/market to share em with.

I was toying with the idea of throwing up some "trial packs" in the coming Fall, where I only charge shipping. Just to get a hang of it.

I'm game if you want to try a shipment to Florida.

For those of you who ship corals regularly, how the heck do you make it work around a full-time work schedule?

Do you:
(1) Pack in the morning and keep package with you at work all day to drop off after work?
(2) Pack in the morning and drop off in the morning?
(3) Wait until after work to pack and ship?

I’ll probably be in the market for a pack in the near future. Xiaoxi’s tank is amazing and I’m local too and have personally seen all of his corals and he sends me vids as well. Very meticulous reefer.
