My QT frag tank seems to be doing well. I have about 15 frags. Please take a look at these pics. Pests or STN. I noticed some circles on the tissue. But cannot see any pests. Thanks

I don’t know of anything that kills eggs. Hopefully others will chime in. Good luck. I would dip in something clear to start to verify AEFW. Maybe even a quick RODI dip?

Freshwater dip will kill the coral if it is as damaged as it appears. I'd dip in Bayer. QT the corals and then do subsequent dips as the eggs hatch. Not sure what the incubation period is for aefw.

If it's not an expensive piece just toss it and dip the rest of the Coral in your quarantine tank. By the way it look your tank is heavy infested with aefw and it's going to be tough to erradicate them sometime the best action is to toss the infected piece.

Thanks guys.. i tossed the piece.. I dipped it in bayer and a now it is history.. I am checking the other frags in the QT frag set up.. Hard to see these little mothers..

I agree AEFW bite marks. Bayer will kill the live ones, not the eggs. Dip as many as you can, but don't force it... there is an effective way to kill them in-tank.

Get a treatment of wormwood or KZ flatworm stop. Double dose will interrupt the live cycle in a few months - not fast, but effective and totally safe. Stuff will look a lot better in a few weeks, but it will will take 3-4 months to eradicate them.

The Purge is a crap shoot. Some people have had it work, some have had it crash a tank, but most have had mixed success with it killing some worms, but not complete eradication. I would avoid this unless you are desperate.

Have you yourself used wormwood or KZ FWS to eradicate AEFW, jda?

I use FWS for years. It never cure rather prevent. When I got acros in the past that are infected, FWS so not cure it.
The way FWS work is somehow make the cross bit more slimy the slime protect the acro and prevent the flatworm from reaching the acro flesh..

In stronger doses it appears to keep the worms from being able to lay eggs. It interrupts the life cycle. After a few weeks, the corals do look healthier probably because of the claim on the bottle (more slime), but after a while, new eggs never appear and you only find adult worms. They appear to live out their days childless and in the end, they die without being able to leave the next generation behind to wreak havoc.

When Matt was still at Boom corals, he inherited a bunch of infested colonies, set up a tank and used 4x to 8x doses and this appeared to speed up the process, but he never saw any new eggs either and the larger AEFW appeared to die faster.

Highly advice against the large dose against the bottle instructions. Been there done that. It doesnot help and will stress the corsl.
Just think about what the product does..it stimulate the coral and push it to creat slime just like when you take coral out of the water and handle it by hand. The slime is produced by the coral itself not by the product. It's a delicate balance between irritating the coral to a point that is not harmful. The product itself do not harm the fw. It just prevent it from eating the flesh. If system is infected the eggs are everywhere on acros including on the plugs themself which will not be covered in slime and still breeding spaces for the fw

You do 8 or 10 times the dose you are messing with the coral too much. I tried it, it doesnot work. The flat worm reproduction cycle is so long you end up needing to do that for a long time to be effective which will be harmful to coral. If you ask kz folks(which I have done 2 years ago) they will tell you the same.
Use it as prevention not cure.
