One of my green staghorns (Hulk or abrolhosensis) polyps are receded. Got it 2 months ago and its had 100% polyp extension from the start during the day. Until today!

Yesterday, I decided to epoxy (instant ocean) a few corals that where on the sand. I may have touched the corals a while moving things. I May have hit it with some epoxy fingers to really tick it off..

All other corals seem to be doing fine. I've ruled out pest and parameters.
Should I be worried or just let the coral recover from whatevers bothering it?

Just give it a few days.

Btw, how much epoxy you used?

Agreed, a little time. How's the skimmer reacting to the epoxy?

Of topic and high jacking, Diesel, how the weather down there? Went to cat 4!

I'm still kicking as you can see.
We have a steady rain since noon and I had 1.5 m" on the rain sensor.
We get a lot more in the next few days.
Wind picked up a bit and we have 20mph gust in Houston as we speak.

Skimmer did go crazy as usual.. However, in the past when I was running more wet skim it would overflow the collection cup after doing this. Now that I have the waterline dialed down I don't have that problem.. Hmm, I wonder if running Wet would be beneficial after glueing or expoxying.. I am going to change my chemi pure perhaps this might help.

Water change is your. Eat friend here.

Polyp extension is still lousy or barely there 1 month later. Pretty safe to say it was not epoxy, ALK, CA, Pest, flow.... I never dosed MG and dosed it from 8/11 after and started adding it to my waterchanges which had 1200 MG... My tank is ULNS with fuge and skimming and not by choice! I have to feed heavy and add aminos to compensate. I do not have any pest causing the lack of polyp extension few of the corals

3/15 (Tank setup)
8/6 - MG 1400 NO - 0 (started dosing nitrates causing RTN on some and death on others)
8/11 - MG 1280-1300 (Started dosing MG) ALK 9dkh, CA 425 NO 3PPM PO 0.03
8/14 - MG1300
8/17 - MG1320 NO 1ppm
8/21 - MG1400 NO 0.02
8/24 - MG1400 Alk 9dkh, CA 420 NO 0.05, PO 0.05
8/25 Polyp extensions gone on stag, perhaps improved by 30% but still not full extension.

All parameters stable for 1 month..

9/29 ALK 8.4DKH CA 425, NO .03 PO 0.2

Could It be the MG? Other corals are having same problems.

That's very unusual -- which nitrate product are you using? I advocate using potassium nitrate (kn03) from FW planted aquarium ferts are much better imo.

Carbon is great for whenever there's something in your water and you don't know what it is. When I use epoxy I use carbon, it also helps.

Seachem nitrogen.. It was not the product it was the fact I went from from undetectable to 3PPM in 2 -3days.. Tanks been back on track after this incident pretty fast and parameters are constantly stable at 8.4DKH, 420CA, PO 0.04, NO 0.03, MG 1400. I don't run filter socks just skimmer, miracle mud, chaeto, and small bag of chemipure carbon. My DI resin was also shot so could be the 3tDS going into the water in the last few waterchanges and ATO.
