Please help! SPS concerns, possibke GFO issue??

Hi! Brand new here so please bear with me.

I added gfo to my reef tank because my Phosphates were showing around .20 and had nuisance algae forming. My acros and sps had been flourishing with great PE and growth.

I added GFO (very slightly more than recommended dose) and phosphates dropped to about .07 within a week to 10 days. All of a sudden PE was non existent and a few, of many, acros have white tips now. A few also have so minor color loss. My LPS seem fine but I noticed a slight deflation in their tissue.

Did I over use GFO? What can I do to fix this?

I use Kalk in my top off, do 3% daily water changes, use All For Reef, Lugol's, Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt.

NO3 is around 12 ppm normally

ICP test attached.

Can you post a clear photo of the coral that isnt doing good? What brand of gfo?

I wouldn't say the drop was too fast. If the color and PE was good then gfo might have been too strong. What type of algae was it? Do you run any carbon (GAC)? How fresh is your ro/di media/membrane? Reason I ask is because the algae could be a result of some ro/di allowing some contaminates in the tank.

Thanks Cory. Here are some before=after pics. The before are from September so theirs some good growth but they had good PE during daytime. I noticed the PE probkem about 5-7 days after changing the GFO. The GFO is Phosban. I changed out and used about 150 gal worth. My system is 130 gal total volume. I still see some PE at night though.

It was GHA. I do run a carbon bag. The RODI membrane is about 4 months old. The carbon blocks/sediment and DI resin were near their ends. I was getting about 3 TDS at the time. I have since changed them out.

Sorry for the poor quality pics. I'm still learning.

Do you have any fish that could be picking at them? If you dont see any stn I wouldn't worry about it. White tips could just be new growth but its not easy to see under the bluer pics.
