so you checked your phosphates with hanna checker and got a result of .045? Or 0.45? Which is it since my hanna checker shows only two digits after the decimal point. If it is 0.45 then chances are that is your problem. Way too high PO4 and will brown out your sps and will cause problems

Definitely check for pests if you haven't already. If its possible to remove a few frags I would try dipping them and see if anything comes off (AEFW or Redbugs). Shine a flash light under the corals and look for bite marks. Lack of polyp extension and poor colors can be signs of pests. Keep everything else stable as you're doing. Consider a triton water test if no pests to look for heavy metal problems and to confirm your own testing results.

if all parameters are ok then check for pest...milli is AEFW favorite dinner and it will cause the corals to brown out and lose PE. It doesn't hurt to test dip and see.

I will try a dip again when I'm home.. alk is 8.5 and salt is 1.025

And phosphates I checked with the low phosphorus hanna checker and it came out to .045 after the conversion. (Times 3.044 and divided by 1000)

I'm sure the more experienced reefers can answer this better, but just I case it has been overlooked. Do you have algae growth, diatoms, cyano or anything like that. I'm wondering if you are getting false positives in some of your tests.

Personally, I would change out any canisters, filter media and then do a series of water changes over ten days. 20% every third day. Test your water (RO?), see what the norms are. Are you dosing? Could your products be expired?

There are a lot of easy things to look for, exhaust these options first just in case you might have overlooked them. After that, start looking at things like are you missing any fish, have any inverts or corals disappeared? Do you have some missing turbo snails?

After all that, they are SPS, they don't need a reason to do anything. They seem to do because they can. Good luck. Keep us posted!

The bionic 2 parts are not expired and I haven had any deaths. I did have some red algae on some rocks but I have been removing it. Also parts of my rocks are green but was told that it should be turning into coralife algae??

Also I had the dryside magnet of my rw8 in the overflow.. any chance this could be doing this?

I got a polyfilter and more eater from vivid aquarium just now. I'll do another 15 gallon Change when I get home

So today I did another 15 gal WC, removed the dryside magnet from the overflow and changed the location of one rw8. Also added a polyfilter

I also Dipped a few of my sps with revive to see if there were any bugs. I did not find anything.

Finally I switched out the media for the phosphate reactor.

Additionally I found a very small bit of red algae and what looks to be a small bit of green algae with clear bubble on them .

As others have concern with your nitrates and Phosphates, I do too.. I'm running .12ppm PO3 in my tank and this said to be too high. I use Hanna colorometer as well. Try ROWA Phos . and Water changes as others have said.

Some Sps will brown up if your phosphates are high. So we know that was in your case. Once you have your water par stable. Your SPS will start coloring up again. Like stated, it can take weeks and months on some SPS. So be patient keep water par stable. Stripping your phosphate very fast from a high to a low can put stress on coral. Slow is better. GFO is very good controlling phosphate. Just watch in future so your levels don't go that high. Alk and phosphate are two important test I watch every week. Start with small amount rowaphos very powerful. Changed GFO only when you notice your levels start going up . Stay on top checking. This stuff cost more but last longer.

+1 pirannhapat You have to be patient doing wc to fast can cause rtn or stn take your time . What is your tds on your ro/di water ? Purity of water can make a big difference

So my test tonight was .085 for phosphates. nitrates are very low.
