I guess "best" is subjective. Some have full blown frag tanks for their QT and some do not. I just use CoralRX and I have been fine.

This time around I plan to QT everything. Hopefully only things into this tank will be what I want. LOL.

We have used Revive Coral Dip by Two Little Fishies for our business for over 8 years now.

Here are Vivid's SPS QT steps.
1) Dip the coral in Revive (4 caps per gal) for 2-4 minutes. After a few minutes use a baster to blow jets of water against the coral. This helps to blow off Acropora Eating Flatworms (AEFW's). It also seems to make bite marks easier to spot.
2) Inspect the coral & dipping solution under light to look for any unwanted crabs, such as Gorilla Crabs, Red Bugs, and AEFW's.
3) Look even closer to see if you notice any AEFW eggs. They are usually near the base of the coral or between the branches. If you see eggs brush them off or cover them with super glue gel.
4) Place the coral into a coral QT tank and hold it under observation for 4-6 weeks.
5) After observation period is complete and no signs of parasites are evident acclimate the coral into your main display aquarium.
6) If you don't have a coral QT tank you will have to skip steps 4 & 5.
7) As you progress in the hobby you will eventually recognize the importance of steps 4 & 5 ;)

This video we did is useful and has pics of Red Bugs, AEFW's, & AEFW eggs.

I QT all frags not only because of sps bugs, but ich can come in on coral as well. Small tank heater powerhead led 72 days.

Thanks guys. DO you QT in a sterile tank or do you prefer to keep a tank running for frags and such?

New sps additions go thru this with me

Temp float for 30 minutes

Drip acclimation for 2 hours while maintaining water temp

Bayer dip/rinse

Inspection

Cutting of frag off of frag plug and glued onto a fresh plug

Put into frag tank for at least a month while observing for any abnormalities and treating appropriately for such things.

All goes well into the display it goes after another drip acclimation and another bayer dip.

How many times do you rinse after bayer? I have heard of some people having trouble long term with acro thinking bayer may be the cause. Nice tank BTW

Here is my frag setup. The clowns were not QT though. Thinking maybe should have but both seem healthy. Only live stock 2 clowns, a fire shrimp, and CUC. Noticed I have some limpets also the other day.

LPS and softies seem to do well. Plan to try SPS soon. I tried a frag early on but it wasn't doing good when I moved it so it was probably stressed and the new tank sure didn't help.

I use 2 seperate tubs with tank water that I use to rinse one right after the other vigorously shaking each frag in each cup.

Thanks for the complement! :-)
