how long should a tank be set up before adding sps? i am participating in the UC Live sale this weekend and im trying to get an idea of what to get. I will have a dose setup in the near future, so maybe wait until I have that before I get any sps??

Like any first coral or tester coral, the best stuff is the cheap stuff.

It varies, but usually a few months to a year or more. If you're testing daily/weekly, keeping things stable and other corals are doing well, then at that time you can try an inexpensive piece or 2. Montipora are pretty easy going generally. They also grow huge and then a year or 2 down the road you wish it wasn't there. Lol.

lol. thanks so much!

Most of the plain bright green acros are pretty hardy and inexpensive. Last time I set up a tank I threw one of those in there to see how it went.
