I just purchased a strawberry shortcake frag 2 days ago. I noticed it polys seemed to be out more the store then my tank. Is this a bad sign

My alkis 8.4
Nitrates 12
Phosphates.08
Cal 480

Just started to get back into sps after a tank crash.

Currently only have 3 sps
efflo with browned out then colored back up green. No polys
And the shortcake and Ora frostbite witch just bought

I have radion xr30 pro

To be honest I didn’t ask Whst they had

They look like radion but could be similar looking light

It takes time for them to adjust, I added a JF Barney Acro and a shades of fall frag a few months ago. The Barney Acro has fully encrusted the frag plug and has a ton of new growth while the shades of fall frag has done pretty much nothing. Corals grow at their own pace, keep your parameters stable and they will come around.

Seems like you may have similar lights. Might need to check your par but you may also need to make sure your flow is good as well. Makes a big difference. This is, however, assuming that your parameters are on point.

My flow is 2 mp60 in a 7 foot 265 tank. It is a Med flow at best. Maybe I ll buy another one to add flow

Once I was able to maintain good parameters and my tank matured, Flow was the biggest contributor to me growing acros. The change was night and day. In a tank that big, I would definitely increase my flow and see how the corals respond. With a strawberry shortcake, you should be able to see stringy polyps. As mentioned, may take some time for the corals to adjust to your tank.
