A few weeks ago i had a calc reactor go a little haywire and killed some sps and shocked alot of the others. Is there anything i can do to help aid in recovery? Amino acids? Over feed tank?

Any (help) is appreciated

Just keep your parameters consistent is the best thing you could do, feeding heavily to a stressed out sps won't help imo.

If they're stressed they won't eat, don't over feed. It could cause more problems. Just give them a chance..

I would just try to correct parameters and keep things stable for the coming period and give them time to recover on their own. Don't discard any dying corals as I've had tiny buds recover from nearly dead corals.

Like already stated, just keep everything stable and be patient.

Best of luck!

As have been said, keep the parameters stable. :)

When things go south and my sps start to RTN or STN I frag the healthy tips and they usually survive, I never let a coral to rtn or stn totally without trying to save frags. A few months ago my tank crashed due to a chiller failure and I decided to reboot the tank with the surviving colonies. Hours after starting over... an epic bacteria bloom! Fish were dying and corals were RTN.

Saved all the fish, lost lots of colonies but kept the frags. There was only one tiny red millepora I was unable to save. Now everything is growing back as can be seen in my signature.

My tank a few months before the crash:

That's a sad sight JMacedo. Still a very nice comeback.

I guess im glad to see im not the only 1 losing stuff by the bucket. But things seem to be bouncing back, made a few frags and starting to see polyps on some again.

Thanks for the help
