just took these pics a few days ago.... after semi-tank crash over the summer: lost a few colonies and colors.... but seem like the colors are coming back nicely.

I always loved your updates. Looks like things are back on track for sure!
thanks... same here with your posts ... after the event/incident, i've learned that "if its not broke, don't fix" (ought to know that already .. lol)

here's a top-down shot of the my tank back in April before the incident (red-circled are the colonies that i'd lost)...from L-R - strawberry mint microclados, pc rainbow, DFS strawberry shortcake (nicest shortcake i've ever seen, but very sensitive), Tyree Pink Lemonade, and Tierra Del Fuego:

Fantastic tank man! Pics 7 and 13 in the first post, the two deepwater pieces are blowing my mind! The tips on the smaller colony are crazy.
thanks.... that's RRU Firecracker and Jason Fox Flame (it's regaining its colors slowly)

It's sad to lose such nice big colonies. What caused you to lose them?

well-- long story-short: I did a few trades with those that i thought had the AEFW, so i came across a thread claiming to have the in-tank treatment for AEFW and many claims that it's "SAFE" .. so i decided to give it a try out of "safety precaution" ..... I followed all the directions "to-the-tee".... then, on the final treatment, that's when almost everything went south...i lost all those colonies and my colors were very pale...

Anyway i should have, but didn't post anything on that thread b/c seem like many people claimed to have success with the treatment, i just don't want to stir up something/anything...i just have a newborn, so i just don't have the time for any debates...

anyway-- i've been in this hobby for awhile and should've known better :) .. and glad that everything is heading back to where it was.

That's rough. Fortunately I haven't had to deal with those little jerks. Did said product work to get rid of them, or did you have to resort to something else after losing colonies? The reviews I've seen have been a very mixed bag on that stuff.

Out of safety precaution, I used that product assuming that the trades i did with others could affect my system... i don't see any bite mark or egg on any of my sps... i did have red-bug infestation though while back (roughly 3yrs ago) -- i used interceptor, and it did the job.......

On the last week of the treatment, that when start loosing those colonies-- so i did a big water change, turn my skimmer and carbon rx back on.... it took roughly 3 weeks for everything to settle down and colors are starting to come back.....

Very nice photos and acros! Sorry to hear about the colony losses but glad things are back on track.
