Sps STN (from base up)

I had a mini crash in my tank a month ago from treating with chemi-clean while still having too much cyano in the system. Water turned red/pink from a huge die off and a i lost some pieces too it. I did daily water changes at about 10% over teh first week. Since then I've done 3-4 15% water changes.

Before the incident i was battling bleaching crumbly tips on my sps. It seemed like the general thought was my alk was too high for my nutrients. I've brought that down to the 7.7-8 range over the last month and its been steady. My problem now seems to be the opposite, STN from the base up.

My nutrients have gone up, here are my numbers from today:
Alk 7.7
Calcium 440
Magnesium 1350
Nitrate looks to be slightly more pink than 5ppm according to salifert (low range viewing from side)
p04 popped up at .18 by hanna phosphate kit

Anything off there that could be causing the STN? Are my nutrients too high for the lower alk now? Or is it most likely just still recovering from the mini-crash?

IMO you still have the results from a mini crash.
I hate to say but in order to stop the STN you can frag the healthy pieces of the infected STN and keep them on a frag rack till they recover.
Chemi-clean is super aggressive and need to be used by caution, if you had cyano I would use the Hydro Peroxide method.
A lot less aggressive and as effective.

Thanks Diesel. That's good to know about the h202, if I run into the problem again I'll go that route. Great links as well.

That's a bummer most my stn pieces are encrusted and small/medium colonies. Better to frag them then loose them completely though.

Yes, fragging the healthy part off will def work. Have done it several times. Although you might have to do it a few times for it to stick or maybe just once will work. I have had it both ways.
