I really love the idea of a shag carpet look substrate with some green star polyp. I havent been able to see any tanks with this idea.

If you have any advice, good or bad, please let me hear it.

Im fully aware it would need to be well managed often to keep it in control.

Also, im new to reefing so feel free to shoot some other SPS that would work for this idea.

Thanks, Dave

Inappropriate reefer had it as a “sand bed”
It just requires a lot of work to cut it back every time it reaches the rock

Wow. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. Im technology challened.
Cheers!

I think one of the big issues here would be cleaning and clean up crew: snails and stuff wouldn't trsveset the GSP and removing gunk, sand + fish waste from the GSP would be a challenge. The maintenance would be a nightmare - it's just so fiddley to work around rock like that

Watch that full video: he actually reckons it helps with cleaning - but ultimately concludes it's a nightmare to keep off rock
