so tested alk today, and came up 5.1. That can’t be right, tested again, 5.1.

Check my doser, and the line is twisted and had kinks in it.. so no alk dosing for about 3.5 days!

I know slow and steady rise is what I want, do I just let it go back to dosing or add a bit to each dose to supplement to get back to where I want?

I dose about 150ml a day right now spread across 24 doses.

I guess I’m not sure if the SPS is still rapidly consuming my ALK at a rate of 1 dkh a day, so do I still dose my regular rate + more to catch up?

What test kit are you using to test alkalinity? Test error?

Recommended to not raise DKH more than 1 DKH per day.

At 1 dKh usage per day and 3.5 days off I'd trust your test. After all, 5.1 now would tell us it was around 8.1-8.6 before.
You'll need to add a bit extra daily until you're back to your desired reading. You could bump your doser 'on' timing or manually trickle the extra.
Test daily until you get it back to where you want it, and don't make my mistakes of forgetting to re-adjust the timer later .... write yourself a note !!

Test kit is correct, no doubt about it. Certainly had a dosing error with the hose.

at this point I added 2 mls extra per dose x 24, will check tomorrow AM and see where I am at.

corals don’t looked stressed yet, lots of pe as usual. Hoping for no issues.

Take into account how many hours after your extra dosing when you test in the AM.
Adding 48mls/day with your current 150mls will most likely only increase dKh by approx 0.3 in 24hrs if straight math works here.
If you don't mind taking it that slow go for it. All it will do is require you to test for a longer period.
The only thing I see happening is 'maybe' some Ca buildup on equipment until the 2 balance out. Nothing major to worry about.

My alk was 5.0 with no stress to SPS. I brought it up to 7 over a week or two. No problems!

Low alk doesn't seem to be an issue...just swings. Slow and steady :)
