I am curious if anyone has a tank with just skimmer and fuge for filtration and live rock without gfo and any form of po4 reduction succefull in keeping a low nutrient tank.

That tank is beautiful!I do with bi weekly 20% water changes.![]()
Like your tank i follow it. Have you ever had a problem with po4 so low.?My tank was a couple years old and then rebuilt before christmas so like 6 months old again.
I don't run GFO or anything else this time, just carbon.
I have a lifereef skimmer and lifereef refugium with only chaeto in it. You can see that setup and results here...

And I have less than 1 ppm nitrates. P04 last i checked was like .01-.02
I run a 200g mixed reef, mostly sps and lps. Plus another 150g in sump, fuge, frag tank and mangrove tank.
22 Fish total across all tanks. Lots of critters.
Rock and sand is all from Tampa Bay Saltwater, so real live rock.
I really thing the crazy chaeto growth is what's helping keep my nutrients low.

I'm worried more about nitrates being so low than P04. I've been adding fish to try and raise it a bit.Like your tank i follow it. Have you ever had a problem with po4 so low.?
Thanks! For some reason i can't get the po4 to register at all and I feed 3x a day and supplement AA and zeofood. And reef frenzy.
Ya looks like its working well for you. My no3 has always been 0 also.I'm worried more about nitrates being so low than P04. I've been adding fish to try and raise it a bit.
P04 I don't really worry about one way or another. It's so hard to accurately test especially and you don't know what's feeding on it in the tank. My crazy cheato ball is probably consuming most of it. lol
I've also had it as high as .12 and didn't have a problem then either.
