Sps that will win the fight with pavona?

I have both green and purple pavona growing and encrusting on my rock work in places where I now wish I hadn't placed them. They seem to kill any other sps they come into contact with. Are there any acropora or other nicer sps that can stand up to it and stop its constant spread?

I would say no, mine takes out anything it touches.

Same here.

I have a frag of the ORA mint pavona, it kills anything it touches other then my torch.

Throw a Hydnophora next to it. They can not be beat prob the most deadly. Only problem is that some consider is SPS and some LPS. It’s a beautiful coral either way they look like they are plugged in they are so bright. Not my picture cause I took mine out a year ago for killing anything it was near

Is there a way to kill it without killing anything else? Like, cover it with putty or something?

That would probably kill it. Smothering it with anything so it gets 0 light, should kill it.

So far no issues with mine. But, thats why I placed it on the bottom away from others. It grows fast too. Pretty easy to frag it to keep it under control.

i didn’t realize pavona can be invasive like that. so kinda anticipate and isolate it the way one would with GSP on an island?

yeah, its because it's too late for that. The trouble with it is that it not only grows in those twisted plates but it also encrusts and spreads out along the bottom.
