been a while started a 29g brochure about 6 months ago, left the hobby for a few years, I seem to be having some issues with a birds nest and a no name acro after a couple months the tissue is peeling off, both are haining in there but death seems to be happening, I have several other corals that are doing just fine including a clam, was wondering if anyone has a idea behind this

Tank specs
Radion15 15pro led
Mp10
Full sump conversion eshopps 70

Refuge with chateo
Jeabo 1200 dc return pump
600gph powered in tank

Can you give a bit more information about the other corals and how long this took?

It is likely RTN/STN. These can be caused by a variety of reasons. It will be helpful to know your full water cheistry, flow, lighting, and any changes you've made to the tank. Were they growing well before this occured or are they new?

When you say nitrate .05, do you mean 5, or really 0.05. What are you using to test nitrate?

In addition to the above questions, do you dose anything or rely on water changes?

mp 10 flow at 60 percent on reef crest, it location is 4 inch from the top and 4 inch down
Corals seemed fine full PE purple stylo is doing great, all lps are open and happy except my Duncan's

Using API, I would take a good water sample to a trusted LFS and have them test for you to verify readings and compare with yours
I have a sneaky feeling salinity, alk and ph may be off

Ok , I go a place called " aquatic collection in hayward CA , very high quality LFS, i also might add I had to do some some plumbing repairs to my return pipe, I let the glue setup for at least 2 hours, soaked it in a RO bath then put it on, I have never seen pioe glue cause a toxin but ...just throwing it out their, I also did a 15g water change a hour after putting the pipe back on just to make sure

Here are some pics, the birds nest is showing RTN/STN

Nice tank
Sorry, I just don’t see anything but reasonably healthy BN and Acro corals.
Your post says skin peeling off, can’t see that either.
Maybe just the pic, sorry

Now, the flowerpot corals, they just die slowly anyways, nothing your doing wrong, but in my experience, last maybe 6-9 months.

The area at the bottom? not unusual on some Acros.
How long is that area been like that?
Not going to be a lot of light in that area.

I can see the skin oeeling iff at the arms too. Frag the good arms of the coral. And toss the rest to try and save some of the coral.. especially if its litterally peeling off quickly.

Your alkalinity way too high for the nitrate level. Your Acropora looks like it has a boring algae, this likely means that it has not been growing for some time now likely due to starvation, I would lower your alkalinity to 8 or just sub 8, raise your No3 to 10-15. Also I couldn't find your Po4 numbers. If that is low then that could also cause a problem. GL

So your saying to bring my nitrates up to 10 to 15, I can run my fuge light down to 8 hours and check the levels, I feed 1 a day reef roids and fish flakes on feed mode for 5 minutes, target feed all corals and dump the rest for the remainder of the feed cycle, skimmer is set to not turn back on for 1 hour after feed cycles
