Just wondering. Used to all be the same as the bottom color
Sps change color based on couple of conditions.
Purple and blue pop when your iodine levels and or iron levels are in check for the coral spices.
Also based on the light spectrum and water condition coral can go through diffrent color phases.
The color come from zooxanthellae algae that is on the coral skeleton. The thicker these algae are the more brown or dark its colors look, in ultra low nutrient level ad an example coral color tend to be washed out.
Coral color is a very involved topic. On a high level you can say light, water condition and trace elements can have a noticeable impact...
In my system as an example purple and blue to me is an indication about my iron and iodine. I can almost tell looking at my echinata if my iron and or iodine are depleting in my system to which I start dosing more...

No it's extremely bad. Send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you ;)

Actually I'm the only licensed coral disposal service in the lower 48. Send that digi by it too, it looks really bad as well! :p

The Digi has grown alot. Was all one pieces but I broke it cleaning the tank. So I glued a little piece there and it grew

Just saying my params are good, I think.... I don't test for trace. See below.

Yup. I personally do lots of testing just for fun..I run icp once a month. But that's because I experiment alot lol. Was not advocating for testing trace elements though I think its valuable at least once a quarter... I was just trying to explain the major factors that influence sps coloration.
