Sps white

I contacted Neptune So that they can help me program my skimmer and refugium to help keep nutrients stable but haven’t heard from them yet and I’m not much of a programmer when it comes to the apex I’ve always contacted them for help

Can you turn your fuge time down in the meantime?

I added Brightwell cheato grow when I first started the refugium I stopped once I got my icp test results back and it said I had to much iron but the cheato grows like crazy do I need to trim it haven’t touched it for the 2 months that it’s been up and running

You should be removing it periodically. I throw away 60-75% of mine every month or so and my light is only on when my display lights are off (12 hours)

another really quick way to add nutrients is dose no3 and po4. a lot of folks do it. I dose no3, my po4 for now, is just fine. your sps will love it

In another thread you stated you’re running Ab+ at 40% with diffusers? Not enough light will starve acros too. You should rent a par meter if you plan on keeping sps.

Ab+ with No diffuser what’s a good par meter and as far as sps what par should I be shooting for will the radions be enough or should I add a t5 hybrid along with them

Try this for your skimmer program:

Skimmer:

Set on
If time 12:00 to 22:00 then off

This will turn your skimmer off 10 hours a day

For your fuge you’re going to have to find the sweet spot. Neptune isn’t really going to be able to tell you what’s gonna work. Use this code and play with it to see what works. This process is gonna take a few weeks to figure out the balance between nutrient input and export the fuge is a huge export monster, so I suggest not running it every day of the week. BRS did a good video on fuge export might want to check that out.

Fuge Light:

Set OFF
If time 00:00 to 10:00 then on
If DOW -M-W-F- then OFF

this program will run your fuge light between midnight to 10 am. The DOW will keep the fuge light off the whole Day on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

I agree that the tank is light on fish which long term can be an issue for acros. But by the look of the rocks, it’s a new tank and IMO the Nitrate/Phosphate are just fine. IMO the issue is one of three things:

1. New tank syndrome
2. Alk too high. I’d recommend 7-8.
3. PAR too high/low. Get a PAR meter to verify.

Good PAR meters are expensive and you likely won't use them much. This is a more economical option:

as far as ph it was always low so I had a co2 scrubber but I would burn through media in days so I put a hose on the skimmer and one out the window ph git up to 8.0 8.1 then I recently added the refugium and it went up 8.4 to 8.5 rock has a lot of purple coralline bit noticed some white spots as well is this normal yes lights are at 40%

When is it the best time to have the fuge on when lights are on or off also my fuge is full of cheato do I take most of it out I see a lot of detritus underneath as well should I siphon it out

Fuge ON when display lights are off. I wouldn’t worry about the detritus. You could turn off your return pump for 30 minutes to let the detritus settle
