Has anyone really had good success growing sps under a t5 setup? I have a 60 Cube so it would have to be 24" bulbs. I'm just tired of melting sps.

And the answer to question about t5's in a 24" fixture growing SPS yes absolutly! I had no problems growing sps corals in a 20gal high and to be honest I don't think I would had a problem in a deeper tank like a 30gal X high which is almost 25" tall. I was using a Aquaticlife 4 bulb t'5 light fixture with ATI bulbs. Good bulbs make a differance!!

Current T5 6x54w worked like a champ with great growth in my 75gallon and clams on the sand bed fully open. Used ATI bulbs.

I have the aquatic life 4 bulb on my 55 and my clam is always fully opened. Would acros do ok in my tank?

Well that answers my question. I'm just tired of melting corals with my leds and don't really want to mess with a chiller if I don't have too. Beautiful tanks!

I use T5s on all 3 of my tank and grows everything perfectly fine. I have a 24in 4 bulb tek on one of my frag tanks and sps grow anywhere they are placed.

You can "melt" corals with T5's, too. I've got an 8 bulb fixture with ATI bulbs over my 75g and ended up taking two bulbs off line and I still can only place very light loving corals up higher.

Each time bulb replacement comes up, I consider going to LED just to see the results. However, I am getting great growth and colors with T5's on my SPS and LPS. They all love the T5's. Why fix what isn't broken, right? You will do just fine with T5's.

I switched to led and have had decent results. I wish I could say I've had great results. I have top dollar led and they grow SpS like a charm. Lps and zoos do way better under t5

+1! Exactly

Do you have intensity control on your led's? if you do id lower them and see if you can find a PAR meter locally and if you have sps at the highest spots in your tank id adjust my leds to 350-400
PAR at their tips and place any chalices on the sand bed or slightly off in the shadows but not in the caves.
