SPS without extras

IMO, water changes are more of a pain compared to dosing which is simple. Also, I'd much rather have my tank water stable compared to water changes every week. There is a reason why your SPS start snot-rocketing during water changes. They do not like the change.

Salt is much more expensive to buy anyways.

I suppose I'll offer my 2cents also. I agree with most that say you will eventually need to dose if you are very heavy on SPS. If you keep it to a few colonies that remain small then you will be fine with Kalk additions. If you are just looking to keep things simple though and not spend a ton on dosers and such then manual dosing is a good way to go too. In my last tank I was dosing as much a 70ML per day of each 2 part and did so for quite some time before I broke down and bought dosers and a controller. 2 part is pretty much one of the cheaper additive we use especially when we do go with Randy's recipes.
