Which SPS would be good for beginner like myself. Something hardy, grows fast and just overall looks good in a tank.

Try a birdnest first or some monti's.
How long is your tank up and running?
my tank has been running 1 year now. I've had success with all my LPS growing many heads and I've grow lots of mushrooms so i wanted to try SPS

I've had this one through extreme cold water and high summer hot water. No lights for days no flow due to power outage and tank transfer. Super high nutrients then striped them all in a week. And ofcourse no feed for awhile because of laziness. I'm telling you it's hardy enough for starting of your sps adventure. Plus it grows fast(for me atleast). Good luck!

Glad to hear that, IMO any SPS will work if your numbers are stable.

My ORA Joe the Coral grows super fast, and is probably the hardiest Acropora I have. When making changes a lot of the others I have get upset. Joe's just all polyps ready to go.

If you are just starting to with SPS get you a good alkalinity test kit and a hana phosphate electronic test kit. That's your first coral. Make sure those 2 parms are under control before you start. I"m sure you are already testing alk with all the other parms. Then you can get what you want. I would start with a montipora and a tenius acropora.

You have any pictures I'd really enjoy seeing how yours looks!

Funny. I've been keeping SPS for 11 years and tenius has been one of my lesser successes. Green frogskin is a tort. Not necessarily the easiest SPS to start with although is does grow like a weed.

For Starter SPS corals. Montipora's, Stylophora"s, Seriatopora', and Pocillopora's are all easy to keep medium light SPS that aren't too expensive to start out with. Most of them grow pretty fast and have plenty of color and are somewhat forgiving when it comes to less than perfect water parameters.

Most ORA corals are really hardy. Also birdsnest and related corals can labeled "bulletproof" as well.

I've never had problems with low ph and stuff I had low calcium but I had that fixed within a week so I believe I can keep up with some of the hardier ones
