spspirates 150 gallon build

Your build is awesome. I just finished reading and I love how you are doing things. Also I love my Reef Savvy too.

Looking at these pics you really get a feel on how thick .75" is. Felix said it is a heavy tank but two people should be able to handle it fine....LOL I hope so!

Your right. More the better. We'll need to carry it about 70ft.

Some steps going up into the house and across wooden floors. Tank is 3' wide so will have to go in sideways.

+1 on the hand trucks/carts!

That tank will be heavier than you think. Took 6 people to carry our 180 about 75 feet from the garage to the back of the house and had to stop 3 times. The same for a 150g we had. They have 1/2" sides and 3/4" bottom. So no less than 4 people on a 150g with glass that thick.

Jackie

Thanks for the heads up Jackie..I'll have enough people over here. We'll get the job done. Can't wait:)

Gonna be so nice Andy, Savvy makes a clean looking tank.

Ahhhh..... Andy and Jackie you just need two beefy hunky guys to handle a 180g AGA....... Did I tell you that Duane (trido) and I dismantled a 180g system and carried tank about a 100' to a trailer then drove 80 miles before carrying up a driveway through a garage and into the basement for new owner. We also delivered a 175 Bowfront to a Dental Office with just the two of us. Of course now that being 50-something must be to old...lol

So Andy, are you telling me/us that before the 4th of July you actually might get this puppy WET

Cheers, Todd

Todd I hope so.......We moved into a house that needed an entire make over. From interior to exterior.....well worth it but a LOT of work time and money. Multiple projects everywhere. I knew this build would be a slow one. Tank, tank/cabinet and even sump are made to order. So that kinda of stuff takes a little time. Reef Savvy tanks at the moment have a lead time of 4 months. Stand took about 2 months..LOL Slow process but yes this thing will soon not tomorrow or next week but soon have salt water.. I love a build but it doesn't happen over night. The wait is horrible!!!

Andy, if you were to have followed my original Build Thread over on RF you'd feel a whole lot better about the progress of yours.... lol
Over a year to get it wet and only just two weeks ago mostly completed my canopy, now I'm thinking seriously of replacing the tank by this Fall with a taller version in same footprint to get more volume. My wife just gives me 'one of those looks' but I keep telling her that I could have MUCH WORSE of a hobby or addiction.

Cheers, Todd

Sideways is no fun. Just installed my 300g, 3/4 glass with 5 guys and had to turn it sideways. Thought it was going to break our backs and mine has a PVC bottom! Man that build is making me wish I went with Reef Savvy. Hope it ships better than mine did. Good Luck, it will be sweet for sure.
