Thanks Krista! We have so many projects around the house all at one time it's hard to get time to build. Wife is like "priorities"!...LOL

Congrats on the new tank Andy, it's gonna be awesome

def tagging along on this one GLWB and loving the structure of the stand ..

Following along for sure! :D This is going to be an epic build. Your last tank set a standard.

How many lbs of rock are you going to be having in the new tank? Will it be minimal style or a bit more? Liverock or deadrock?

Thanks for the kind words Sahin. That was a fun little reef. Almost reminded me of a tide pool.

Good question. This tank will be given me enough room to have 3 islands. When it comes to pounds of rock = a stable system I believe more in surface area = a stable system. So 30lbs of pukani versus 30lbs of Fiji is not the same. I'll be searching for some Pukani rock or a rock that is comparable to give me the maximum service area for beneficial bacteria something light and very porous. Most of the live rock in stores around here comes in dead then soaked in vats. In this case your getting clean live rock with out all the pest. If all I do find is dead rock then Im fine with that. Ill also transfer my old sand bed to jump start the cycle. Around each island I'll have scattered tonga branch to give it a more real feel to it. I may tweak a couple things here or there but for the most part this is the plan.

Thanks. Thats interesting. Do you recall total how many lbs of rock you had in total in your 30G Deep Blue cube?

To make a guess I would have to say about 10-15lbs not counting the very dense toga branches.

OK so Im ready to put a skin on it and then cabinet doors. My goal for this stand was (A) to make it very sturdy and (B) to give it a Bohemian/Victorian style to it. This will consist of lots of gaudy trim work. Mostly tacked on and then stain the whole stand. Will have to give it my best shot.....LOL
