Me either! Ha! I found it at MAMAX and had to have it. It was a no namer and thought it looked exactly like BGM but pink! I fragged the other half to a good friend for back up. A really unique piece.

Thank you very much! It happens but not too often. If the frag is healthy and your parameters are where they should be then things should go smooth. Do consider the light situation of which the new frag was under and also dKH. Assuming their specific gravity is 1.026 acclimation shouldn't be an issue. But from time to time a frag is stressed to the point of bleaching when even everything was done right.

+1 This tends to happen to me with stylos. Every time I get a rainbow stylo it kicks the bucket in a day or 2 while all other sps are doing well. Every tank has it's own quirks.

I love that pink monti cap Andy! Been looking for a pink and a blue but no luck.

I've been thinking here lately on going bare bottom. Well actually I've been thinking about it for quite a while. A main problem I have is detritus. I really believe I can have a cleaner reef going bare bottom also with the added benefit of placing more variety of corals on the tank bottom. O yeah no more sand bars!
So to go about doing this I think I'll syphon a little out each time I do a water change until over time Im bare. I will have to sell my three wrasses to a good home of which will definitely be a sacrifice because I love those guys.

I see the benefit in both styles of reefing. I used the DSB approach for the past 7 years and when I started my new system last year I went barebottom. Glad I did. Cleaning out the detritus with water changes is a breeze, I run a lot more flow and my Acros have never looked this good. Your tank looks awesome no matter what you decide but I definitely think you'll love the barebottom. Only thing is I read recently that the tank may consume more ALK and Cal because of all the Coraline algae that will grow on the bottom but I'm not looking back. Just food for thought
