The tank has been set up since May 24, 2019 as an upgrade to my 25 gallon. As of now I'm just letting things settle in and grow probably get a few more fish and corals ;).

That looks very nice, clean and well organised, and thanks for sharing it with us

And welcome to R2R as well by the way

Following along. I have a special place in my heart for 40B's :) I really like how your stand turned out :)

yeah right 40BR are like everyone's 1st love. haha I really think there great tanks best bang for your buck hands down and great foot print. only thing that's a bummer it lighting them. but still easy enough.

Thanks, its definitely a 5 footer, looks good from 5 feet away lol. I somewhat used your 40b as inspiration, and your eclipse overflow gasket suggestions saved my floors from leaks.

Always enjoy seeing others 40 breeders.

Best tank until you get to 75 plus gallons imo.

I'm in the building phase of mine. It is very slow going. I have about $100 month I can put towards it.

I was thinking about going to the 75 but everything from my previous tank switched over. Reefing is definitely not a cheap hobby glad your continuing, Ill have to check out your build.

I've been working on my controller board I still need to get more plywood to finish it, although its nice to have a place for things to go.
Still kinda a mess but no power bars or bricks that are left on the floor so thats good I guess.

I received a dosing pump today as an early birthday gift. This will be my first dosing pump and I'm looking for some tips about using it and where to mount everything. Im thinking to the upper right side in the stand and routing the dosing lines into the last baffle before the return pump

I'm using this schedule now as well. If you're looking for par readings they did a video with their AB+ at 8" AWL and readings at 6",12" and 18". I have those measurements and #'s written on the glass temporarily with permanent marker as a guide. But here we're the readings for 6" below water.

Center - 197
Middle - 113 (8" from center)
Outside - 27 (16" from center)

Hope it helps til u get your readings.

Thanks for the numbers, as a guess im probably pretty good with the two lights. The test will be when i decide to put some sps in

I've had to move my dragon soul favia and honeycomb leptastrea to the sand bed from the middle of the tank as they were bleaching out. Since the move they are doing much better and have noticed new growth on the honeycomb.

Wow, great build! I've got a very similar 40b setup as you. In fact, I have the exact same return pump and overflow. The sound of the overflow is my least favorite thing about the build so far. How silent were you able to get yours? Any tips or tricks? What percentage do you have the return pump set to?

Did you have to modify the trim for the eshopp overflow to sit up high enough so the water line is behind the trim?
