Squishie's Coral Quarantine Tank

Well this weekend we are moving this tank from the dining room to the kitchen. There is no fish or fast inverts to catch so this ideally shouldn't be very difficult. The main thing is to make sure the corals deflate before being removed and trying to get everyone back where they were. Most of the corals are on plugs with pegs and are secure in the frag racks, so my plan is to put each square frag rack in a bucket with tank water, that way no one is misplaced and trying to figure out where they were.
I had a small bout of red planaria flatworms, I am sure there are still more in the tank, not too concerned at the moment about them. Medusae are back which is always fun.
Really cool thing happened, one of my hermits gave birth! There were TONS of babies. I am not sure if any are still kicking around, but no sign of them. Was amazing to see that though.
I also found I had limpets in the tank, which was quite a surprise, they were hanging out in the HOB filter. It is both good and bad to see them, good because I like limpets, but bad because if they got through it means other things got through (which is obvious due to me mentioning things like flatworms and other worms).
I ordered more blue glow frag racks to try and get the meat coral and trachy out of the light even more.

Yesterday we finally got around to moving the CQT. 95% of everything seems fine, a couple corals are still upset. I did not make many changes because I knew they were all going to be upset anyway. I did take out the eshopps magnetic rack and put in two beautiful Blue Glow racks (I am getting another 1" high one as I think the 2" one is still too high), I moved the corals off my homemade rack (this may not be a permanent thing, still trying to find their happy place). I did break off a small chunk of my Acid Trip millie, I glued it to a plug to try and salvage (still having trouble finding the right spot for this coral anyway). I would really like to make more big changes, like changing up the rock work, maybe adding more rock, possibly just doing one pendent so I can more easily estimate where corals should go (and get the ones getting bleached out of the light). It is hard to justify to make these changes when so many corals are thriving. Maybe once I can get some of these corals out and into the display tank I will make changes, I think there are just too many corals (is that a thing?).

HOWEVER the best news is; IT'S FINALLY FRICKIN' DONE AND I CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH MY DISPLAY TANK!

See the itty bitty baby frag?

And my stylo is branching again from all 3 current branches, so soon there will be SIX branches! It is also still encrusting on the frag rack, this coral is insane.

Congrats on the move!

-Lost the clam =/ A few theories but I think 2 major components was the tank move and ants. Apparently moving the tank to the kitchen triggered ants to go swimming in the tank. I tried some spray organic poison (which may have been a factor in the clams death) and then we put out poison baits. Very possible the poison got into the tank and/or the ants brought poisons into the tank. I have since added carbon to try and remove as much toxins as possible. I am hoping to try a clam again after I unload some of these corals into the display tank, whenever it is ready, there just is not a lot of room anymore.
-All the other corals/inhabitants made it through the move! Everyone is adjusting to the slight changes that took place.

Have some photos!

Talk about a gorgeous quarantine tank. This looks better than some display tanks :p. Also nice camera.

Thank you! At this point it is more a frag tank haha, I can't wait to empty this thing out into my still not set up display tank. Probably after it gets at least mostly emptied out it will look more like a regular tank as I will probably add more rock. I just use my Samsung Galaxy S5 and for super macro shots I use this Easy Macro Lens (which I love). Thanks again!!!!

Not much has happened this past week. just been slowly tweaking some things like coral placement to try and allow some of the bleached ones to recover hopefully. Going to possibly move the lights a bit. I may have found a spot for my future bounce mushroom to go. I found a type of eunicid worm living under my blue lepta which may be inhibiting growth. I tried to glue all the holes, but it just burrowed its way back out, so I may have to try and removed the coral from its plug and go after the worm directly.

Not too much to update with
-Put some eggcrate over where the wellso and meat coral are to try and limit how much light they get. Part of me is now wondering if they somehow need more light. Lol, I don't know.
-My mandarin goby was moved from my 90g to this tank the other night. She was dreadfully skinny and I believe what may be the problem is I have a bad hair algae problem in that tank and I think the pods are hiding in the algae which makes them much harder for her to get them. The CQT has a good amount of pods so hopefully I can save her.
-One of my hermit crabs has spawned 3 or 4 times now! Really cool and kind of crazy haha.
-Things are slowly moving with getting my new display tank up and running. It gets plumbed this weekend! So hopefully maybe by the end of the year or early 2017 I can move some corals into there. I will be taking my time with the display tank, making sure it is without a doubt ready for fish and then corals before anything is moved in. It will be kind of slow, especially waiting for the anemones I have to find their spots before moving corals in.

-My candy coral got knocked down last week and one head landed on my mini scoly. I thought it was doomed but it is coming back!
-Speaking of coming back to life, saw that my plate coral skeleton I had in my rubbish pile in the tank was sprouting babies!

It's filling up!

It's filling up!
It really is. I pretty much don't have any more room (having corals touch makes me nervous). Luckily my DT got plumbed this past weekend, going to test the plumbing tomorrow then I can start making headway! Thanks for checking in!
